„The Bee“ is dedicated to Pauline, a girl who died with 16yrs of age. Pauline was one of the protagonists of my film Soul Birds. In April Soul Birds did receive the highly respected Adolf-Grimme Prize for outstanding TV productions in Germany. It is my pleasure to honour Pauline with this film that she shot herself before we met. In fact this little observation of a bee trying hard to get to the honey on the very edge of a spoon thaught me a lot and still touches me today. In that respect Pauline was like a master to me from whom I learned a lot.

„The Bee“ ist eine Widmung an Pauline, einem Mädchen das mit 16 Jahren verstarb. Pauline war eine der Protagonisten meines Filmes Seelenvögel, der im April den renommierten Adolf-Grimme Preis bekommen hat. Es ist mir eine Freude Pauline mit diesem Film ehren zu können, den sie selbst gedreht hat, bevor wir uns kennenlernten. Diese kleine Beobachtung einer Biene, die sich abmüht um den Honig am Ende des Löffels zu bekommen, hat mir viel gezeigt und berührt mich noch heute. In dieser Hinsicht war Pauline wie eine Lehrmeisterin für mich und für diese Seite.
